Andre Booyzen
After a long career in, and holding senior positions in, ICT I was introduced to business improvement and people development and immediately evolved a passion for it, being rewarded along the way by winning international awards for the programs I was leading.
This success and initial change in career then led to another change in career to executive positions in international mining companies as a General Manager, Vice President, CEO and Director, all of which were successful and rewarding. My passion for developing people and continually improving business played a major part in my executive roles. Along the way I was privileged to have had some outstanding mentors and coaches that passed on their experiences to me and helped build my knowledge in leading operations and organisations. I am still passionate about, and am always growing my knowledge in business improvement, people development, operations and sustainability.
Over my career I have been unflinchingly devoted to safety and the belief that all organisations and people within them should care about each other and the impact they have on everything and everyone around them. My focus more recently has been as a consultant to the leadership and people in organisations to help them develop and manage themselves, their teams and their companies to transform into impactful, efficient and profitable entities. I also believe in passing on my experience to others and I currently volunteer a lot of time to local youth organisations mentoring young people in need.
As a disciple of personal development and continuous improvement in all areas, I have come to realise the importance of people, culture and systems in all organisations. I have personally seen that a successful leader must have impeccable organisational, systems, people and coaching skills, and must continuously challenge conventions and build high performing, safety-and-results focused teams that deliver results. This I achieved throughout all my years as an executive. The teams and leaders that I have helped develop, empower and transform via our executive coaching Brisbane service have gone on to transform our teams and company, achieving results in operations, finance and safety that were never thought possible before. Results such as 500% growth in company turnover and resultant cash, reducing LTIFR from 27 to 0, and reducing staff turnover by 300%, increasing a mine’s life from 1 year to 13 years, to name but a few.
